MAC_beth
MACbeth is a comment on the advancements of technology used in the entertainment industry. Recent films and 3D animations use “fake” techniques that are hauntingly more and more perfect as years have passed. Soon, means of entertainment will not be created at any location but a studio, and actors will become obsolete. This piece explores what would happen if actors became unnecessary, specifically to something as renowned as a Shakespearean play. It will begin by revealing how the machine can almost seem human, and then immediately goes into a narrative from Macbeth (Act V, Scene I) using only the synthesized voices found on MAC computers. This piece is not meant to have repetition, to be abstract (in structure), or to be musical. It is instead a theatrical reflection on the future.
