exhibition of MATTER
I worked with designer Kate Slovin to curate and design the 2010 UCLA Design|Media Arts Undergraduate Exhibition, the biggest exhibit of the year for D|MA Undergrads. The show consisted of 230 printed works, over 40 video and animation pieces, several interactive pieces, over 30 installations, and over 40 books. We worked together to create an environment that would speak to our theme of "MATTER" in various ways and that would stay visually cohesive with our brand, the most notable being our motif of clutter and mass. The goal was to display the work in ways that aimed to glorify the department as a whole as opposed to (necessarily) the individual. The opening night was very successful with musical performances, and over 200 people in attendance.
As the co-curator for the exhibition, I was responsible for the design and art direction of all marketing materials including the branding and theme selection (in collaboration with Kate Slovin and Corinna Loo), as well as the design of flyers and the poster for the show.
