River of Shadows
The part of Rebecca Solnit's "River of Shadows" that intrigued me the most was the overwhelming amount of destruction and waste that took place as a result of Westward Expansion and the Technological Revolution. My book is a direct reflection of the often times maliciousness of the revolutions as well as the waste. The book is sewn on both edges so as to force the reader to rip each page to advance through the novel, creating a book that can only be used once.

The back cover is the only memory of this edition of River of Shadows. The title of the book is laser-etched into the black-stained wood so as to exist as a remembrance of the reader's experience with the book.

The book shown here is edition 1 of 4 total created. Each book was printed on thin bond paper, and hand bound through a series of drilling and stitching with a thick, waxed thread.
